This means truth. I learned this a long time ago. Did I understand why it’s important? No, I really don’t think I did.
So truth. Today as I was contemplating various debatable subjects (i.e. if God is really there, gay rights, and Harry Potter) and what their significance was. If God is really there, why doesn’t he show up more often-how come I can’t see him? Are gays really wrong? They’re just people who fall in love with other people of their sex- no big deal. And did Harry and Ginny really fall in love- or did Harry have an undiagnosed Oedipus complex?
Things like these, that often create debates, are where truth seems to get muddled up. People add opinions or emotions to manipulate the results to be what they want them to be, or people get so into what other people think and explore that they completely forget the truth. This often happens to me. Why? I don’t know. I’m too curious? I don’t think thats a bad thing. But how do we find the truth? Its like algebra. For example:
The way to do it- Get rid of everything that’s not x.
That’s the difficult part. Because, no matter what I want it to be, X is X. It doesn’t budge or change. Truth is absolute. It won’t become a 3 just to help me out. What I mean to say is that,
“Truth is truth, whether you believe it, or not.”
Everything and everyone that doesn’t tell me what x is, well, probably has something to hide. To find the truth? Get rid of everything that is opinionated or based on theories and ideas. Truth is there- its what everything is built from. Go with what you know. Let your conscious be your guide. Seek it out yourself. And you know what they say, the truth will set you free.
Or if you’re really having trouble, just remember what Jesus says: “I am the way, and the truth…” Ask Him to lead you, and you will Know, and never stray.
And so now, I am off again, seeking truth, justice, and more sleep.
